Colleagues,

As part of our commitment to providing abundant and convenient learning opportunities for Abt colleagues around the world, we have assembled a summary of eLearning courses and resources that we think you will find of great interest. This summary includes highly relevant courses from the WorldBank, USAID, the National Institutes of Health, Fogarty International Center, and Learning in NGOs (LINGOS) Last Mile Learning, as well as many providers of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses).

Our Corporate Strategy for Professional Development is to provide a blended approach to learning, including on site, on line, and technology-enabled options. So please visit our AbtLearn page frequently to see our continually expanding scope of learning opportunities.

What types of eLearning courses are offered?

You can access a broad range of eLearning courses in the fields of domestic and international health, economic growth, environment, education, policy development/change, disaster risk management, PPPs, statistics, data quality, program management, M&E fundamentals, and much more!

Are these courses provided through AbtLearn and the LMS (Learning Management System)?

No, these courses are not offered nor tracked through AbtLean. They are self-directed, independent learning programs. If certificates are offered, they are done so through the course providers.

Do I need my supervisor’s approval? Is charge time provided?

Please discuss any courses of interest with your supervisor. Course fees and charge time are not provided by the Professional Development department.

Are courses offered in languages other than English?

Yes, some are. This varies by provider.

Will the Abt IT team provide me with technical support?

Abt IT department will help you determine if your system has the proper software and speed to access the courses. If you encounter technical difficulties during the course – bandwidth, connectivity, etc. – please contact the provider directly.

How do I get started?

Go to the AbtLearn pages on AGI, and peruse the courses offered in the categories noted below. Then follow the registration, launch and completion instructions outlined by the course provider.
