High-level speakers at the WSSF
The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is proud to announce a number of high-level international speakers for the World Social Security Forum (WSSF). Altogether, there will be over 170 speakers, panellists and contributors during the week of 14-18 October 2019 in Brussels Belgium.
High-level speakers include:
- Ms Maria-Francesca Spatolisano, Assistant Secretary-General, United Nations
- Ms Amira El-Fadil, Commissioner of Social Affairs, African Union Commission
- Ms Valérie Schmitt, Acting Director of Social Protection Department, International Labour Office
- Ms Lais Abramo, Chief of the Social Development Division, United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean
- Ms Katarina Ivankovic-Knezevic, Director of Social Affairs, European Commission
- Mr Mark Pearson, Deputy Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
- Mr Patrik Andersson, Chief of Section, Sustainable Socioeconomic Transformation, United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific
- Mr Gustavo Demarco, Global Lead on Pensions and Social Insurance, World Bank
Just as important are the multitude of speakers from ISSA member institutions. All regions and all branches will be represented, and are contributing to making the programme the biggest and most in-depth ever developed. The Forum will provide a huge range of rich content, all of which is built on the real life experiences of our members. The WSSF will be a key step in advancing the role of social security, and ‘Protecting people in a changing world’. See you in Brussels!
