Covering a broad range of current debates in social security policy and administration, the issue privileges Latin American, European and developing economy case studies in particular.

The articles address:
  • an assessment of human rights considerations when social security administrations adopt biometric technology,
  • the adequacy and coverage of old-age benefits in Mexico as well as Uruguay,
  • the relative policy impacts of youth active labour market policies in Greece and Portugal,
  • the potential of micro health insurance to extend effective coverage to excluded populations.
