On December 7, 2020 the Director General of  the NCDC met with a newly appointed head of the DTRA / Georgia offcice - Ms. Margo Shields. At the meeting Ms. Shields got introduced to the ongoing projects within NCDC-DTRA partnership relations by the predecessor - Maj Hunter, got aquanted with the Center's representaitves and had a tour at the Lugar Center. After the meeting the NCDC staff said good-bye to Annaleis Hunter, whose contribution to the NCDC in stregthening the capacity of the Center, particulary during the COVID-19 pandemic was very significant.

Over the past year, the United States has provided more than $7 million in assistance to help Georgia fight the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the government continues delivering essential services to the people of Georgia. Yesterday, our new Deputy Chief of Mission, Rian Harris, helped the U.S. Embassy’s Defense Threat Reduction Office deliver personal protective equipment and laboratory testing supplies to the State Laboratory of Agriculture. Yesterday’s donation is worth more than $114,000.
