My name is Tiffany Maurer and I am the new intern at the Swiss Embassy in Tbilisi. Currently I am assigned to make a short assessment about  the situation of the Universal Health Care program in Georgia, especially when it comes to the treatment of HIV/AIDS-, Hepatitis-C- and Tuberculosis-patients. For more than half a year a growing number of asylum seekers from Georgia arrive in Switzerland, claiming that there is no sufficient medical treatment for their diseases in their own country. To properly deal with those applications it is important for us to know, how the Georgian government plans on carry on with the financing of the programs to eliminate the above mentioned diseases, especially after 2020 when Global Fund will cut its support-program. Due to the limited time we have to make a statement from our side, I would like to kindly ask you whether you have any further information concerning this topic or any documents you could forward us?
